So how do you like the idea of Solomon's Farm? Take a moment to drop me a line at:
BrotherKMinistries@gmail.com
...and let me know.
I won't be posting for the next couple of days, but when I return (hopefully on Wednesday) I'll be presenting the first of the Solomon's Farm weekly lessons along with a Lesson Guide for what you can expect over the next twelve weeks. I'll be covering such topics as Prayer (Talking to God), The Creation (God Made You) and Parental Love (God's Love). I hope to hear form you soon, but more importantly I hope you'll feel free to use this ministry to start that all important dialogue with your children that God loves all of us and He wants us to know Him and receive His love.
Yours in Christ,
Brother K

12-Week Lesson Plan
Hi All!
I can't recall if I've mentioned it earlier, but Solomon's Farm is meant to run in twelve week blocks, with lessons broken down into smaller segments within that twelve weeks depending on the complexity of the biblical lesson. For instance we take four weeks to look over the purpose of Prayer (talking to God), but then we take seven weeks to study the creation story (seven days of creation, one day per week). Get it? So, with that in mind, here is the Twelve Week Topic List:
Week 01: PRAYER - Talking to God
Week 02: PRAYER - Asking to God
Week 03: PRAYER - Seeking God's Forgiveness
Week 04: PRAYER - Praising God
Week 05: CREATION - Light & Dark (Genesis 1:3-5)
Week 06: CREATION - Sky and Water (Genesis 1:6-8)
Week 07: CREATION - Land and Fruit in the Trees (Genesis 1:9-13)
Week 08: CREATION - Sun, Moon, and Stars (Genesis 1:14-19)
Week 09: CREATION - Birds and Fish (Genesis 1:20-23)
Week 10: CREATION - Animals, Man and Woman (Genesis 1:24-31)
Week 11: CREATION - God Rested (Genesis 2:1-3)
Week 12: REVIEW - Meet the Cast
And there we are. Twelve weeks of Solomon's Farm. Come back soon for the lesson uploads, and may God continue to bless you in the days to come.

And here we come to the last of our introductory coloring pages. This one shows Daniel, Daisy and a very sleepy Bengal sitting beneath a tree.

In this episode, the lesson was on the Creation story. Each lesson can stand alone, but the lesson this was taken from was part of a six-week span where Daniel was recounting the Creation story as presented in Genesis to Daisy while on a walk through the farm. In this way, the child coloring these pages while at Sunday school or in your home can hopefully realize the the Creation story doesn't end in Genesis but continues on right through today in them.

In this drawing, we meet Daniel's father and the owner of the veterinary farm, Dr. David.

Daniel's parents are very loving and compassionate people. They view their farm as a haven or "second chance" for animals that have been neglected or abandoned by other people. And since the farm is near a big city, sometimes the farm receives some very exotic animals who need a little rest and TLC.

Here is Solomon, once again in the role he primarily plays at the end of the stories.

To give you the idea a little more clearly, Solomon mentions praising God in prayer as he leaps out of and back into the water. He's summing up what has happened in this booklet's previous seven pages in which Daniel, Daisy and the other animals had been learning about how to talk to God in prayer.

And this last image (for today) shows Daniel & Daisy trying to help two other members of the Farm Family resolve a conflict. Their names are Lisa the Emu and Flash.

I think helping children understand that the Bible is the way in which God speaks to us all about His nature, our nature and His plan of salvation for all of us is of paramount importance. There are existing resources for a straight retelling of the Bible's stories, such as David and Goliath or the story of Joseph. By all means such resources should be used and the Bible itself needs to be taught plainly. With Solomon's Farm, I'm attempting to expand for children the concept that the Bible has spoken, to the Bible is speaking.

And here is another drawing of Daniel & Daisy (remember, you'll never see one without the other) walking on the farm with Daniel's mommy. Her name is Dottie.

I've been to a lot of churches and the preschool / early primary school age groups are usually held together in a single room. And sadly, some of these churches did not have the resources to create any sort of lesson or even activity for the children. One place I attended wasn't even teaching them sing-a-longs like Zacchaeus or Jesus Loves Me. I'm hoping to fill that gap with these free lessons that take the Bible and allow the children to see how the Word of God applies to them.
